Bank Holiday Weekend Birds

Also over the Bank Holiday we picked up some good Year Ticks and Migrants, Garden Warbler, Garganey and Whichat had my best views of Whinchat such lovely little birds I managed to get a record shot.
Also great views of Swifts there was loads at Middleton must of been 50+ :)
Also had nice views of Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti's Warbler even though I didn't realise intill it was too late lol he was showing of in the same tree as the Lesser Whitethroat managed to get a quick record shot but not very clear.
We also had a nice hour at Marsh Lane, the Black-tailed Godwit was still present but distant but my highlight was the Sand Martins perched up on the wire outside and viewable from hide there amazing birds love them :) Nice views of Redshank, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Commom terns and Mediterranean Gull.

Bempton Cliffs, Filey Briggs and Holbeck, North Yorkshire and Belvide reservoir, Staffordshire

Had a very successful weekend and very enjoyable, Saturday we started at Bempton Cliffs extremely windy there. I picked up four lifers, Razorbill, Guillemot, Kittiwake and Gannet. All so amazing to see but think the highlight has to be the Gannet's they look like ornamental, stunning birds and watching them display to each other was a lovely sight :) Had nice views of Tree Sparrow too and Fulmar.
We then headed to Filey Briggs 2 more lifers including Shag finally, always nice when you have been waiting awhile to see a bird :) and saw Common Eider beautiful male :)
Also had great views of Purple Sandpipers, Oystercatcher, Turnstone and Knot, and got some photos of them all.

We then went onto Holbeck, Scarborough for the Mediterranean Gull, Dave's friend Dean and his girlfriend Alicia was there so nice to finally meet them, and added banter to the day with Dean he full of life bless him lol and Alicia is so lovely was an honour meeting them both. 

Had superb views of the Mediterranean Gulls, couldn't believe how they were just sitting there so close, was so enjoyable seeing them in different plumages, and being able to take lot's of photos was a brilliant added bonus, was so nice being able to have time to photograph an amazing Gull and try different settings on camera, and the weather had brighten up and the winds calmed downed :)   

Had a great day all thanks to my gorgeous boyfriend again, :) 

 

On Sunday we went to Belvide Reservoir for the Velvet Scoter which was another lifer for me, was distant but had nice views through scope, we then went onto Staffordshire Moors but the rain started to come down heavy so we didn't see anything but was really nice seeing all the scenery :)

The whole weekend had been amazing 7 lifers, and on the way home from Dave's to mine on Monday we saw Redkite by Seeswood pool which is a Warwickshire tick and then we Saw a Raven which was in West Midlands which is a local tick for me :) all great bonus for the brilliant weekend.    

         

Norfolk adventures

WOW.... that sums up are trip to Norfolk more than wow, Just on the drive there and back we saw, rooks, buzzards, kestrels, pheasants all over.  
 I have never seen so many birds I was looking forward to seeing one oyster catcher instead we saw thousands and thousands it was like being in a fantasy world.
All the birds were equally amazing if I had to pick favorite then Oystercatcher and skylark, the Oystercatchers are so striking with black and white plumage and bright orangy red beak, and the skylark seeing him on the ground so close with Daves telescope showed it in so much detail love the tuft on the head.  
Snettisham had murmations of so many seabirds and looking out all you get see for as far as the eye could see was birds everywhere, Shelduck, lapwings, ystercatchers, golden plover, grey plover, redshank, curlew, black tailed godwit, bar tailed godwit so many more.
The little birds too all you can hear is birds linnet, skylark, meadow pipit, as we were leaving we saw a marsh harrier fly over, love my birds of prey and that was another new one for me.

Titchwell Marsh was also full of birds, Black tailed godwit, Redshank, Turnstone showing well the light wasn't good but still got some nice photos of stunning birds so lucky to have seen so many birds close up.
The sanderling on the beach were so cute and funny they walk so fast. Oystercatchers on the beach too, common scooter and red necked diver in the distant diving in the sea.
