Garden highlights - November

My Garden has been very interesting over the past few months, with foxes and badgers just as i thought it couldn't get any better, November proved me wrong lol we have had Nuthatch's, great spotted woodpecker, song thrush and the big highlight for me Green woodpecker, Just not what you expect in an urban area of shirley lol Think the badgers digging up are lawn attracted the green woodpecker as are garden look's more like a pasture land. Also we had a cat in the garden eating the birds dried worms and peanuts lol

  

Earlswood - November Higlights

Earlswood higlights have been the male Goosander, long tailed tits, Goldcrests and the Shovelers and the pied wagtails even though there common just love watching them I think there a handsome bird.

     

Ladywalk Reserve - November 26 th

We visited Ladywalk in the West Midlands to check out the feeding station there, I was getting excited over the Redpoll's, when the amazing birdwatcher Dave Hutton suddenly goes silent you know his seen or heard something lol he say's Siberian Chiffchaff and then it appeared by the stream, such clear views through bins stunning little bird and im just a beginner but I could clearly tell it looked very different from common chiffchaff, so much paler and the sound very different and distinctive.
Wasn't able to get a photo but the image will be in head forever.
Managed to get a photo of the Repoll not very clear also a great spotted woodpecker on feeder.

      

Cannock chase fallow deer - November

One of the best days ever today, Cannock chase is just out of this world great scenery you forgot when walking around how close you are to the city.
The big big highlight was seeing the wild fellow deer, I was so excited just by seeing one in the distance but then when we walked round the corner to the other bit of forest, there was a man feeding lot's of them they were so tame I couldn't believe my eyes, amazing moment to see them so close.
one of them had a poorly eye :( poor thing.

Then we went to a feeding station not far away amazing how quickly the birds come down when you put the seed out, we had nuthatchs, robin, bullfinch, blue tit, coal tit, great tit and Willow tit which was a new bird for me so very cute.

   

Slimbridge wetland centre - November

Excellent trip to slimbridge wetland centre amazing to see the birds so up close even though there captive it's good to be able to see and hear the birds in such detail.
The highlight was the flamingos never seen so many so close there such beautiful birds, elegant and pink, so lady like :)
For this blog I will concentrate on the wild birds seen there at the birding hides, which were, 
Bewick's swan, Shelduck,  Pintail, Curlew, Golden plover, Black tailed Godwit,  White fronted geese, Lapwing, Teal, and Jackdaw.
 The Pintail's were showing so well amazing to see them wild and so close, there beautiful chocolate color head and such elegant posture.

The lapwings were also right in front of the hide you could clearly see there beautiful plumage shiny green, with petrol color tint.

Bewick's very stunning even did some poses for me, so dainty in comparison to the mute swan, photo of a mute swan and Bewick's swan waited ages for the Bewick's to life his head up but he wouldn't lol   

Good views of the Shelduck and also Pochards, and Jackdaws, and the male teal although I had seen male teal before never this close they really are stunning.
